Danny Brown announces the title of his new album

He let ‘Highsnobiety’ in on his 2019 plans.

Danny Brown has officially announced the title of his next studio album: uknowwhatimsayin?.

The Detroit rapper broke the news last night when he posted to Instagram a spread from a new profile in Highsnobiety, which has since arrived online in full. He’s the cover star of the magazine’s next issue, which will be available to order next Friday.

Other tidbits from the profile: Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest served as executive producer on the album, whose title was inspired by comedy albums. The record will feature some guest artists, one of whom is El-P of Run the Jewels. And at the time of the Highsnobiety interview, Brown hadn’t heard the final version of uknowwhatimsayin?.

As for what fans can expect from the record, Brown told Highsnobiety that he wants to focus on “just dope rhymes,” setting aside “weird” concepts and talk of sex or drugs. “I’m minding my business, making sure it’s my business for the little fellas like me, the older motherfuckers, 30-year-olds, 30 and up,” he said.

uknowwhatimsayin? will be Brown’s fifth studio effort, following his critically acclaimed 2016 album, Atrocity Exhibition. He dropped a joint EP with Paul White, Accelerator, in 2017, and a mixtape on the live-streaming platform Twitch in 2018.
