DaBaby, Roddy Ricch unveil post-apocalyptic “Rockstar” video

Watch the rappers take down a horde of zombies.

DaBaby has released a The Walking Dead-inspired visual for “Rockstar,” his latest collaboration with Roddy Ricch.

Directed by frequent DaBaby collaborators Reel Goats, the video is set in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies have wiped out most of mankind. DaBaby and Roddy Ricch, the only survivors left, travel across the country to hunt down the bloodthirsty creatures. “Brand-new Lamborghini, fuck a cop car / With the pistol on my hip like I’m a cop / Have you ever met a real n***a rockstar?” they rap on the chorus.

Of course, a DaBaby visual wouldn’t be complete without some comedic relief. Midway, the rappers set their weapons aside to vibe out with a group of guitar-wielding zombies. The clip also closes out with behind-the-scenes footage of DaBaby and Ricch doing their own stunts.

“Rockstar” is a cut off DaBaby’s third studio album, Blame it on Baby, which also featured the “Can’t Stop” and “Jump.” Earlier this month, the rapper released a Black Lives Matter-inspired remix of “Rockstar” in light of worldwide protests against police brutality.

DaBaby recently performed the remix at the 20th BET Awards, where he also took home the trophy for Best Male Hip Hop Artist. Ricch, on the other hand, earned two of the night’s biggest awards, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year for his 2019 debut, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.
