DaBaby announces new album, ‘Blame it on Baby’

It’s out later this week.

Hold on to your hats—a brand-new DaBaby album is on the way, and it’s dropping sooner than you think.

On Monday, DaBaby tweeted a cryptic message on Twitter signaling that a new record was imminent. “This Friday!” he wrote with a CD emoji. The Charlotte rapper later confirmed the news by sharing the album cover art and its title, Blame it on Baby. Check it out below.

DaBaby also shared the comical album trailer which parodies helpline commercials. In the minute-long clip, several people accuse the rapper of all the bad things that have happened to them. One blames DaBaby for their gambling issues while another holds the rapper liable for their parents’ divorce.

“Blame it on Baby and you can get out of any situation in life,” a cheery voiceover says. “Call 1-800-Blame-it-on-Baby now and you can join the fight… Know your rights. Starting this Friday, when his new album drops, stop stressing and blame it on Baby.” Watch the trailer here.

Blame it on Baby will drop this Friday and is expected to include the previously released single, “Find My Way.” The new album follows the rapper’s 2019 sophomore effort, Kirk. In between, DaBaby has jumped on a slew of collaborations, including Lil Yachty’s “Oprah’s Bank Account” and Blueface’s “Obama.”

Earlier this year, DaBaby was arrested for alleged assault and robbery. The rapper had reportedly been in an argument with a show promoter when it escalated into a physical altercation. Pitchfork confirmed in March that the charges were dropped.
