City Girls have unveiled the first episode of City Girls: The Series, their new five-part docu-series that chronicles the lead-up to their recently released sophomore album, City on Lock.
The first episode—titled ‘Yung Miami’s Secret’—is a ten-minute-long clip that begins in 2018 when member JT was sentenced to two years in jail for fraudulent credit card charges. It then follows Yung Miami as she embarked on a solo tour to support City Girls’ career while also dealing with her second pregnancy.
“Shit going good right now,” Miami says in the clip. “Our songs were on Billboard, we charting and our songs just went Platinum. That’s one of the reasons why I hid my pregnancy because I didn’t want people to feel like it’s a limit to what I can do.” She added that she was also worried about disappointing their fans.
“But everybody was so supportive,” she continues. “I was crying. I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I thought they were gonna be mad at me.”
However, her fans weren’t her only concern: The episode also features a nerve-wracking scene where Miami meets her Quality Control label bosses Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “Pee” Thomas to discuss her pregnancy. The episode also included cameos from Lil Baby, Drake and Migos.
City Girls surprise-released their long-awaited album, City on Lock, at the end of last month after the project was leaked. The record featured 15 tracks, including collaborations with Yo Gotti, Doja Cat and Lil Durk. The girls also shared a quirky visual for the album cut, “Jobs.”
The second episode of City Girls: The Series is expected to arrive next Thursday. Watch the first episode now:
