Chris Brown might be spending six months in jail

This time for owning an exotic pet monkey.

Chris Brown has gotten in trouble with the law many times before. Battery, hit-and-run, a police standoff, he’s done it all. But this time it’s different: Brown might spend six months in jail because of a monkey. Yep.

According to TMZ, the “With You” singer is being charged by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office with two counts of possessing a restricted species without a permit. Specifically, his pet capuchin monkey, Fiji, as seen on his Instagram in late 2017:

While Fiji has been taken to a sanctuary, where he “is doing well,” according to BuzzFeed, Breezy has a court date on February 6. If the controversial R&B singer is convicted, he could face a maximum of six months in jail.
