CHIKA shares new EP, ‘Once Upon a Time’

The project features BJ the Chicago Kid.

CHIKA has released her sophomore major label EP, Once Upon a Time.

The rapper, who was nominated for Best New Artist at the recent Grammy Awards, released the project just days before the ceremony. The six-song effort is the follow-up to 2020’s Industry Games and opens with an assist from BJ the Chicago Kid on “Fairy Tales.”

Although the Alabama rapper did not win the coveted award, which ultimately went to Megan Thee Stallion, she reflected on the experience on Instagram. “I’ll remember yesterday forever,” she wrote. “My first Grammy ceremony was beautiful. I cannot thank my team enough for their hard work over the past year(s) because this wouldn’t have been possible without them.”

“I know I’ve given my parents bragging rights for the rest of their lives, and honestly, you know that’s all Nigerians want frfr,” she continued. “There was no loss, only affirmation that I am in the right place at the right time.”
