CHIKA performs ‘Industry Games’ cuts at NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk’

Her debut EP dropped last week.

CHIKA recently appeared at NPR’s Tiny Desk to perform cuts from her debut EP, Industry Games.

The Nigerian-American rapper kicked off her set with a stripped-down version of the project’s title track, “Industry Games,” backed by four singers and a three-piece band. “N***as be playin’, yeah / Industry games, yeah / Rappin’ but they not in love with it / Think it’s a shame, yeah,” she spits.

Later during the set, CHIKA added a pocket tub of Vaseline to the desk’s collection of knick-knacks. She also took several breaks during her five-song set to chat and joke with the audience. “I’m funny, we’re not gonna argue. I’m funny!” she told the crowd in between laughs.

CHIKA also performed Industry Games cuts such as “Song About You,” “Balencies” and “Crown.” The EP arrived last week, and includes the Charlie Wilson-assisted “Can’t Explain it.”
