Chance the Rapper teases new song, “The Heart & The Tongue”

It’s expected to land Friday.

Chance the Rapper has a new song coming.

On March 1, Chance tweeted a video clip with the caption, “The Heart & The Tongue.” The 40-second snippet features the Chicago rapper laying on a sofa in a dimly lit room as he solemnly raps about issues that have been troubling him.

“My heart and tongue are fighting / My mind is undecided / It’s not like Trump and Biden / It’s more like it’s something private / Like when yo’ cousins fightin’ / One of ’em get excited / You can’t just jump the gun and pick a side and jump inside it,” he rhymes over a laid-back beat.

Chano later asked his Twitter followers when he should release the full song, before following up his tweet the next day with a photo of himself smiling next to the word, “Friday.”

“The Heart & The Tongue” will mark Chance’s first release since his joint holiday album Merry Christmas Lil Mama: The Gift that Keeps on Giving with Jeremih. At the end of last year, the rapper also teamed up with Peter CottonTale for “Together,” which they performed live on Colbert in January.
