Chance the Rapper takes us back to the ’60s with his ‘Ellen’ performance

He performed “Eternal,” featuring Smino, from ‘The Big Day.’

On Wednesday, Chance the Rapper dropped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform “Eternal,” featuring Smino.

Decked out in an old-school tuxedo jacket, the Chicago rapper channeled Motown for his set, performing on an elevated stage with huge letters in the background that spelled out “eternal.” Flanked by two backup singers, Chano sang and rapped the soulful track while offering up Temptations-style choreography. Smino joined in halfway through with fiery bars, looking a little more contemporary in modern streetwear.

“Eternal” is a cut from Chance’s debut studio album, The Big Day. He was originally scheduled to kick off his The Big Day World Tour this month in support of the record, but decided to postpone it to spend more time with his family.
