Chance the Rapper and Jeremih are ringing in the festive season with a joint holiday album.
Titled Merry Christmas Lil Mama: The Gift that Keeps on Giving, the compilation features two new original tracks—“The Return” and “Who’s to Say”—alongside previous collaborations from their Merry Christmas: Lil Mama Vol 1 and Vol 2 mixtapes, released in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Their collaborative album arrives after Jeremih’s discharge from the hospital following a COVID-19 diagnosis. The compilation was released as a “gift to the fans celebrating the holidays and new year” and to “celebrate and express a moment of gratefulness for Jeremih’s recovery,” a press release states.
The Gift that Keeps on Giving was previewed earlier this month with a music video for “Are U Live,” featuring Valee. The clip featured footage that was shot back in 2017, according to the YouTube description.
Chance was recently sued by his former manager Pat Corcoran for a breach of contract. In a statement, Corcoran claimed that the rapper owed him “over $2.5 million of unreimbursed expenses supporting and promoting [Chance’s] career.”
