Chance the Rapper drops new song, “The Heart & The Tongue”

He’d teased the track earlier this week.

Chance the Rapper has released his new song, “The Heart & The Tongue.”

It arrived after Chance teased the track on his social media earlier this week. “The Heart & The Tongue” dropped alongside a simple clip that was directed and produced by the Chicago emcee himself. The visual opens in a dark room with Chano lying on a couch as he opens up about his inner turmoil.

“My heart and mind are beefing, I call ’em Rhyme and Reason / They always going head to head, I’m trying to Siamese ’em,” he spits. “My father got a special set of skills like Liam Neeson / He told me faith and squinted eyes can turn the blind Venetian.”

“The Heart & The Tongue” is Chance’s first new solo release in a while. At the end of last year, he released the single “The Return,” which appeared on his joint holiday album with Jeremih, Merry Christmas Lil Mama: The Gift that Keeps on Giving. His last full-length solo record was his 2019 debut, The Big Day.
