Chance the Rapper drops four surprise tracks

And the internet goes wild.

Chance the Rapper may have taken back his claim that he’d release an album this week, but consider that a misdirection. Because he surprised everyone yesterday by dropping four new songs: “I Might Need Security,” “Work Out,” “Wala Cam” and “65th & Ingleside.”

Good news for those hoping for more chipmunk soul and gospel rap, too. The hymnal “65th & Ingleside” and contemplative “Work Out” drip with both swag and spirit—you simply can’t take the church out of Chano. And check out those gorgeous, gospel-approved Hammond organ sounds on “Wala Cam,” which also features fellow Chicagoan Super Bwe on the verses.

In another revelation, the rapper also revealed his purchase of Chicagoist, a local lifestyle website, on “I Might Need Security.” He raps: “I bought the Chicagoist just to run you racist b*tches outta business.” You go, Chano ?
