After teasing the song earlier this week, Cardi B has dropped her raunchy new single “Up.”
In typical Bardi fashion, the song arrived alongside an equally provocative and vibrant visual, helmed by Ukrainian director Tanu Muino. “I wanted to do something really different,” Cardi said during a YouTube livestream before the video’s premiere, per ET Online. “It took me more than a month… We started rehearsing in December for this moment… The grind don’t stop.”
The clip opens on Cardi in a magnificent black corset, staring down at a tombstone that reads: “RIP 2020.” It later cuts to a flashy dance sequence featuring the rapper and her girl gang, before it unveils the video’s jaw-dropping moment: Bardi sitting atop a nude model.
“Up” is expected to feature on Cardi’s upcoming second album alongside the Megan Thee Stallion-assisted hit “WAP.” Other tracks set to be included are the previously released “Press” and “Money.” A release date for the follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy has yet to be announced.
