Cardi B and Offset are no longer a couple. They’ve split, broke up, parted ways, called time on their relationship—however you want to spin it, the most prolific husband-wife pair in rap today are no more.
Bardi took to Instagram to announce the news. “Everybody been bugging me and everything, and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” she said. “But things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time. It’s nobody’s fault; I guess we just grew out of love. But we are not together anymore.”
Hip hop’s leading lady and the Migos rapper have been married for a little over a year now, and have a four-month-old daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus. Divorce might even be in the pipeline, according to Cardi’s clip. “It might take time to get a divorce, and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father,” she said.
It’s a shocker. Just a few days ago, The New York Times published a profile of Offset, in which he expressed his devotion to his wife. “[Settling down was] the best thing that’s happened to me personally, which helps me make the music, which helps my career,” he told the newspaper. “I have a wife and child—that changed my whole everything. I was a young hothead, but now I understand the value of life.”
Guess that’s changed. Hear it from Cardi here:
