It’s only been a month since Cardi B gave birth to her daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, but the rap star’s already back at work, unveiling the video for her Kehlani-assisted single, “Ring.”
In it, the divas rock matching platinum blonde locks as they sing and rap their verses in phone booths. But get this: the booths float. And they hover over an ocean. Elsewhere, Bardi even gets entangled in phone cords while spitting bars about an unfaithful partner.
According to Cardi, the MV drop came as a surprise to her, too. The Invasion of Privacy rapper reportedly wasn’t told beforehand of the release and took to Instagram to address the “sneaky motherfuckers.”
“I’m a little pissed,” she said in a video. “I got on Instagram [and] I see the ‘Ring’ video come out. I’m happy [with] the response it’s getting, but I didn’t even get to see [the] final cut or edits for the video. I didn’t know it was supposed to even come out today.”
“But, fuck it. I hope y’all enjoy it, I guess,” she added.
“Ring” appears on Cardi’s platinum-certified debut album, which arrived in April, and is the fifth single off the record.
