Cardi B hit with more felony charges in strip club assault case

The rapper was arrested last year for allegedly ordering an attack on two bartenders.

Cardi B has been indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges, which includes two felony counts of attempted assault, TMZ reported last Friday.

The indictment follows reports of altercations at Angels Strip Club in Queens, New York last August. According to officials, as per Associated Press, the rapper had gotten into an argument with two bartenders before she allegedly instructed her associates to attack the club’s employees with “chairs, bottles and hookah pipes.”

The two victims claimed the brawl left them with minor injuries. In legal documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, one of the bartenders was allegedly hit in the face with a drink, which resulted in “burning, itching and temporary blindness in her eyes.”

Cardi had originally only been charged with misdemeanors. In April, the rapper rejected a plea deal, under which she would have had to plead guilty to the felonies and receive a conditional discharge. The rapper is set to attend her next hearing later this week.

But it doesn’t seem like Bardi was too shaken by the court’s latest decision. On Saturday, the rapper took to the stage during the 2019 BET Awards’ pre-show to proclaim “I ain’t going to jail!” as her fans cheered in unison.

Last night, Cardi attended the official BET Awards show where she performed her latest single “Press” and her collab with Offset, “Clout.” The rapper also took home two awards, namely Album of the Year—for Invasion of Privacy—and Best Female Hip Hop Artist.
