Buddy tries to escape “Hollyhood” on his new single

Featuring vocals from singer-rapper Kent Jamz.

Buddy has released the catchy new single “Hollyhood,” featuring singer-rapper Kent Jamz.

On the track, the Los Angeles rapper spits menacing bars about how relationships change once money is involved. “Another one bites the dust, so n***a, back him up / All these hunnids stackin’ up and we’ll start actin’ up / All you n***as keep actin’ sus’, some n***as I can’t trust / We’ll be pullin’ up in black trucks, we ’bout to fuck shit up,” he raps.

Later on, Jamz joins Buddy on the chorus, which samples Chaka Khan and Rufus’ 1977 song, “Hollywood.” “I’m on my way, gotta get up out the hood / On my way to Hollywood,” the duo sing.

“Hollyhood” is the latest release from Buddy, following a deluxe edition of his acclaimed debut album Harlan & Alondra in February. He recently made a cameo on the latest episode of The Vince Staples Show.
