Brockhampton drop ‘Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine’

With features from A$AP Rocky, Danny Brown, JPEGMAFIA and more.

Brockhampton have unleashed their long-awaited sixth studio album, Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine.

The 13-track record includes collaborations with JPEGMAFIA, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Rocky, SoGoneSoFlexy, Charlie Wilson and Baird. The group also previewed the record with “Buzzcut,” featuring Danny Brown.

Speaking with The Guardian, Brockhampton’s Kevin Abstract said the group recorded three other albums before landing on Roadrunner. “I think [this album] feels heavier than the other ones,” he told the outlet. “Maybe because we’re more explicit and it’s not just ‘Brockhampton are sad and we don’t know why.’”

Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine is Brockhampton’s first output since their critically acclaimed 2019 LP, Ginger—and also possibly their penultimate album as a group. Earlier this month, Abstract claimed that the boyband would release two albums in 2021, calling the releases their “last.”
