Brace yourselves for Stormzy’s new song, “Sounds of the Skeng”

    Stormzy has released “Sounds of the Skeng,” the latest single off his upcoming as-yet-titled sophomore album. 

    Co-written and produced by frequent collaborator Sir Spyro, “Sounds of the Skeng” goes off from the very beginning and doesn’t let up. Over a pounding bassline and skittering hi-hats, Stormzy drops confident bars that flex his unmatched presence in the grime scene. “Five whole years on the circuit / Every single year I merk it / I switch flows, they jerk it / I flip more, then reverse it,” the rapper smirks.

    Stormzy teased “Sounds of the Skeng” on Instagram last month before dropping it in full on Friday. It is the latest track off the rapper’s forthcoming project, following “Crown” and “Vossi Bop.” The rapper also released a Henry Scholfield-directed music video to accompany the drop, check it out below:
