‘Boogie’ soundtrack features Pop Smoke, Polo G and more

Sheff G, Jacquees, Fivio Foreign also contribute.

The star-studded soundtrack for the newly released film Boogie has arrived.

The 14-track record features several posthumous songs by the late Pop Smoke, who also made his acting debut in the film as the antagonist Monk. The record also includes new songs by Sheff G, Jacquees, Fivio Foreign, Mula 10k, Bad Boy Raco G, Kamaal Williams and more.

Boogie tells the story of Alfred “Boogie” Chin, a Chinese-American basketball phenomenon in Queens, New York who struggles to juggle his parents’ expectations and his NBA dreams. In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, director Eddie Huang reflected on working with Pop for the film.

“He [had] no fear, Pop [wasn’t] scared of anything,” Huang said. “He also probably had the fastest computer processor in his head I’ve ever seen. I could tell Pop something, and he would immediately adapt and make that change. And he didn’t have an ego about it, and he wouldn’t get scared about it. And he wouldn’t have self-doubt about it. He just did it.”
