Get ready to bust down with Blueface all over again. Scum Beatz, the man who produced the Cali up-and-comer’s breakout hit, “Thotiana,” has confirmed that a sequel is coming soon.
In an interview with XXL, Beatz revealed that “Thotiana Part 2” is already in the works. “Me and [Blueface] haven’t really sat down and cooked something up together besides the ‘Thotiana Part 2’ beat,” he revealed.
The new version is set to feature some of the hallmarks of what made the original so popular—but with a twist. “It’s gonna be the same beat, [but with a] different drum pattern,” Beatz added. “And I added a couple of other sounds.” The producer, however, didn’t specify when the rework was going to drop.
“Thotiana” was first released by Blueface on SoundCloud last June, but slowly grew into a viral hit. It became the rapper’s first song to chart on Billboard’s Hot 100 in January, and has since peaked within the top ten.
The hit track has received two official remixes since its release, one featuring YG and the other Cardi B. Its runaway success has also inspired other rappers to jump on the Blueface bandwagon, with a slew of freestyles and remixes from artists like Tyga, Desiigner and Soulja Boy.
