Black Thought’s ‘Streams of Thought Vol 2’ is out now

A follow-up to ‘Vol 1,’ which was released in June.

Black Thought has released Streams of Thought Vol 2, a joint project with heavyweight hip hop producer Salaam Remi.

The record, also billed as Black Thought x Salaam Remi Present Traxploitation, is a follow-up to Streams of Thought Vol 1, which dropped in June. That five-track release was the rapper’s first ever solo release in all his years with The Roots.

The MC—real name Tariq Trotter—had teased the record with the soulful “Conception,” where he also got to show off his singing chops. Other songs on the project include “Fentanyl,” which addresses the US’ opioid crisis, and “Streets,” which features Bronx musician Tish Hyman.
