After some delay, Black Thought’s third solo album Streams of Thought Vol 3: Cane and Abel is finally out now.
The record—which was two years in the making—was initially slated for a July release but was postponed after the passing of his former bandmate in The Roots, Malik B. “Thank you for your patience,” Black Thought wrote on Instagram earlier this week. “The wait is over. Let’s go!”
The third installment in the veteran rapper’s Streams of Thought series packs 13 new tracks, which includes the previously released songs “Thoughts vs Everybody” and “Good Morning” featuring Killer Mike, Pusha T and Swizz Beatz. The album also features collabs with Schoolboy Q, CS Armstrong and OSHUN. Meanwhile, Portland-based indie pop outfit Portugal. The Man appear on three songs: “Quiet Trip,” “Nature of the Beast” and “Fuel.”
Black Thought started his Streams of Thought series in June 2018, and released its second volume in November that same year. Produced by Salaam Remi, Streams of Thought Vol 2 was also alternatively billed as Black Thought x Salaam Remi Present Traxploitation.
