Benny the Butcher announces ‘The Plugs I Met 2’

“Me and Harry [Fraud] goin back to them dirty street corners with this one.”

Benny the Butcher has announced the release of The Plugs I Met 2.

The project will be a collaboration with producer Harry Fraud, and is due out on March 19—nearly two years after The Plugs I Met, which featured the likes of Pusha T, Black Thought, Jadakiss and fellow Griselda rapper Conway the Machine.

Benny announced the release date for the project on Twitter, where he also promised a gritty street sound:

The Plugs I Met 2 will be the follow-up to Benny’s 2020 album Burden of Proof, which featured the tracks “Famous” and “Timeless.” Last year, Benny was shot during an attempted robbery in Houston, sustaining gunshot wounds to his leg.

News of The Plugs I Met 2 also comes shortly after the Buffalo Bills NFL team tapped Benny for its new theme song, “Bills Mafia Anthem.”

The brief but infectious track arrived with a video that finds Benny and his crew getting hyped on the field in the Bills Stadium, intercutting the footage with scenes of the team doing what they do best and fans going wild in the bleachers. Watch it below:
