Baby Keem bares his soul in “Honest” video

A new visual from his ‘Die for My Bitch’ project.

Rising newcomer Baby Keem—aka Hykeem Carter—has dropped a sleek new video for “Honest.”

On the slow burner, Carter’s vocals float over warped synths and downtempo beats. He muses on his relationship troubles: “The little arguments always start the fight / I had to get away so I’m with you tonight / Is there another guy?”

Directed by James R Weneta, the accompanying visual for “Honest” features Carter performing the song on neon-drenched sets. It’s also intercut with trippy effects and scenes tracing the breakdown of his relationship, mirroring the rapper’s inner state.

“Honest” is taken from Die for My Bitch, Carter’s 14-track project that dropped last month. The Los Angeles-based rapper burst onto the scene last year with the debut mixtape, The Sound of Bad Habit. He’s also logged production and songwriting credits on several Top Dawg Entertainment projects, including the Black Panther soundtrack and Jay Rock’s Redemption.
