A$AP TyY honors MLK Jr in new “Luther” single

It samples parts of the civil rights leader’s legendary “I Have a Dream” speech.

A$AP TyY is back with a new single, “Luther,” to kick off the year and pay his respects to Martin Luther King Jr.

The track is bookended by snippets of King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, interwoven with TyY’s somber bars. He speaks his mind on white supremacy in America: “Stick to the basics / Confederate flags, off to the racists / Little corny folks / Thought it was cool with your monkey jokes.”

TyY dropped the song the day after the US commemorated Martin Luther King Jr Day on January 21, which was also a few days after the A$AP Mob’s annual Yams Day event in New York City.
