Anderson .Paak, KDot explore shades of sleaze in “Tints” MV

‘Oxnard’ is out November 16.

Anderson .Paak has dropped a video for “Tints,” his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar.

Directed by Colin Tilley—whose MV for KDot’s “Alright” was nominated for a Grammy—the video is a little darker than one might expect of the sunny, funk-facing track. But seeing how the song is all about the importance of tinted windows, it makes sense that the visual would dive into all matters sordid and sleazy.

“Listen,” .Paak’s lover tells him at the start of the clip. “I really wanna live in an unmasked world.” .Paak imagines what that would look like, running through scenarios exposing society’s unseemly underbelly, from a kidnapping by NRA acolytes to a camgirl hustling in a Christian household. Lamar and Dr Dre make appearances.

The impressive—and probably NSFW—visual follows the equally breathtaking video for “Bubblin.” Both are taken from .Paak’s highly anticipated album, Oxnard, which is out November 16.
