With the help of backup singers and his band the Free Nationals, .Paak sang “Old Town Road” over an instrumental of Erykah Badu’s “Window Seat,” successfully transforming the YoungKio-produced song into a swaying, soulful number.
Midway through the performance, the Cali native even attempted a British accent. “It’s good to see you guys back again in London town, I came from the Watts Swap Meet,” he said before introducing his band members.
The rapper recently lent his vocals to YBN Cordae’s The Lost Boy single, “RNP.” .Paak concluded his Best Teef in the Game tour in July and plans to hit the road once again in October with headline slots at two music festivals: Afropunk in Atlanta and Suwannee Hulaween in Oakland.
