Aminé goes back to school in “Blackjack” MV

His mom is just glad there’s no “a$$”-shaking this time.

Aminé might already be 24 years old, but the rapper found himself back in school for his “Blackjack” video.

The light-hearted clip transports the Portland native to the “School of Rap,” where he runs for class president, roams the hallway without a pass and solves the all-important question: “Who is Becky?” Aminé even plays his own father at the end of the video, in a quick skit about his “acting out in class.”

Aminé’s real-life mom, though, has nothing but love for this video and the antics in it. The rapper tweeted a screenshot of a conversation with his mom, who wrote, “thank you [baby], no a$$ [in] this video, excellent video. I was praying to God, ‘please let him do [a] video without anything like the other one.’”

The other MV his mom was referring to was for Aminé’s last single, “Reel it in,” which featured a car wash and a lot of, as his mom puts it, “a$$.” Both songs can be found on his sophomore album, ONEPOINTFIVE, which was released last August.
