In need of new Schoolboy Q music? You’re in luck, because the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper to gearing up to release the follow-up to his 2019 album, Crash Talk.
While on stage at a recent concert in London’s O2 Academy Brixton, Q promised fans that he will “drop a whole ’nother album” this year. “I’mma constantly be here bruh, I’m not lying to you, I swear to God,” the rapper said. “I’m not lying this time! And I’m the most lying-ist motherfucker ever!”
Schoolboy continued, “I’ve been working on this album since Crash Talk came out. I been working non-stop. I constantly work because I’m hungry and I love to create. And every time when I come out and I see my fans, it makes me appreciate this shit way more than what it is.” He also added that his new album might drop as soon as next month.

The rapper’s fifth studio full-length, Crash Talk, arrived in April 2019, almost three years after his last record, 2016’s Blank Face. It featured guest spots from Travis Scott (“Chopstix”), Kid Cudi (“Dangerous”), 6LACK (“Drunk”), 21 Savage (“Floating”) and Lil Baby (“Water”). “Lies,” Q’s collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign and YG, also appeared on the 14-track record.
2020 is gearing up to be a huge year for TDE artists. Earlier this month, insiders claimed that the label’s biggest star, Kendrick Lamar, is reportedly done recording his new album. As XXL Mag reported, KDot’s forthcoming record will feature “more rock sounds.” Meanwhile, SZA is also gearing up to release the follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut, 2017’s CTRL.
