UPDATE: Pre-production for CJ Wallis’ Mac Miller documentary has been put on hold. In the latest tweet from the filmmaker, Miller’s estate has requested the project to be held off for the time being.
A brand-new documentary celebrating the late rapper Mac Miller is currently being developed.
On Monday, Canadian filmmaker CJ Wallis announced on Twitter that his production house, Margarette Bird Pictures, will be “collecting interviews and content to make the definitive Mac Miller documentary for his family, friends and fans” over the next year. He also urged fans to share and tag the post with anyone who would be helpful in creating the docu.

Aside from directing films, Wallis’ resume includes producing music videos and album art. Over his years-long career, the Canadian has worked with a number of rap heavyweights including Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross and 2 Chainz. The filmmaker also serves as the creative head at Curren$y’s Jet Life Recordings.
Wallis’ Margarette Bird Pictures is set to release a feature film The Fiddling Horse later this year. Its recent documentary about the variety game show Price is Right, titled Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much, is now available on Netflix.
