Just last week, 21 Savage joked on Twitter that he’d forgotten to release an album this year. But it seems he’s remembered after all: Next week, he’ll drop his sophomore record, I Am > I Was.
Official confirmation of the release comes a week after the Atlanta rapper revealed his new merchandise line and teased the album.
This new record took a whole year after 21’s debut full-length Issa Album, which spawned his hit song, “Bank Account.” But 21 hasn’t been silent since. He collaborated with Offset and Metro Boomin on a joint album, sprinkled ASMR-esque verses on Metro Boomin’s Not All Heroes Wear Capes, and guested on some of the biggest rap songs of 2018: Cardi B’s “Bartier Cardi” and Post Malone’s “Rockstar.”
