2 Chainz, Lil Wayne honor HBCUs in “Money Maker” video

Spotlighting the vibrant culture of Black educational institutions.

2 Chainz and Lil Wayne have released a video for their latest song “Money Maker,” which pays tribute to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Directed by Bryan Barber, the clip spotlights various schools, including Texas Southern University, Florida A&M University, Southern University and Clark Atlanta University. It also features the vibrant culture of each campus as well as their marching bands and dance teams.

Tity Boi and Weezy also appear in the video, with the former proudly repping his alma mater by wearing an Alabama State University jersey. The three-minute video closes out with the message: “HBCUs, we thank you.”

“Money Maker” is expected to appear on 2 Chainz’s forthcoming album, So Help Me God. Due out September 25, the follow-up to 2019’s Rap or Go to the League will also include the previously released song “NO TV.”
