British electronic veterans Underworld have collaborated with Belgian artist Ø [Phase]—aka Ashley Burchett—on a newly released song, “Border Country.”

“Border Country” deftly builds on its pulsating beat with ominous vocal loops and weightless synths. The result is a dizzying, seven-minute journey with a seemingly endless number of layers to delve into with each listen.

The track’s undergone months of road-testing, so you know it’s fit for the best techno clubs. “We’ve been performing ‘Border Country’ live since November 2018 and though it had never been released, we’ve seen how it instantly connects with audiences everywhere we play,” Underworld’s Karl Hyde explained in a statement.

“Border Country” was released as part of Underworld’s weekly Drift series, squeezing into the end of the fourth episode as the closing track. The duo’s ongoing creative experiment will run for a full year, and culminate in a new album, Drift Songs, on October 25.
