Tricky announces new album with “Fall Please,” featuring Marta

‘Fall to Pieces’ is his 14th studio album.

Trip hop veteran Tricky has announced his new album Fall to Pieces with the single “Fall Please,” featuring Marta.

Fall to Pieces will be the 14th studio album by the onetime Massive Attack member. The news comes three months after he released the 20,20 EP. His last full-length album was 2017’s Ununiform.

“Fall Please”—and much of Fall to Pieces—features vocals from close collaborator Marta Złakowska, a singer who Tricky discovered in a Polish bar when he was left without a vocalist on the opening night of his tour.

In a statement, Tricky compared the sound of “Fall Please” to the go-go genre of Washington DC, and singled it out as one of the songs on the new record where “I’ve managed to do something I’ve never been able to do before, which is that everyone will feel it—even people who ain’t into my music. You could be in a club, or in a bar, and you’ll feel it. It’s my version of pop music, the closest I’ve got to making pop.”

Fall to Pieces is out September 4 on False Idols. Hear “Fall Please” below:
