Steve Aoki and the Backstreet Boys have released a touching video for their collaboration, “Let it Be Me.”

The black-and-white clip opens with heart-wrenching confessions from people dealing with life’s challenges. The stories range from a devastating cancer diagnosis to a woman being disowned by her parents because of her sexuality.

The video slowly starts to fill with color as the same individuals show how they overcame adversity with the love and support of their chosen families. The visual also features shots of Aoki and and the boyband performing the song while decked out in suits.

“Being able to work with [the Backstreet Boys] was so organic and effortless. Collaborating with a group that I’ve been listening to since I was a kid was such a memorable moment for me,” Aoki said in a statement. “This song has a beautiful message and relates to a lot of different people overcoming challenges when you love someone, and love always wins in the end.”
