Shygirl announces new EP with “Slime”

Produced by SOPHIE, Kai Whiston and Sega Bodega.

London artist Shygirl has released “Slime,” a cut from her upcoming EP Alias.

The dark, seductive track was inspired by MySpace-era heyday of Cassie-style chart R&B, and was co-produced by SOPHIE, Kai Whiston and Sega Bodega. “She tore it, look at that slime / That silk smooth dirty wine / Every inch she moves what’s mine,” Shygirl chants coolly on the chorus. “She’s for the streets, bitch.”

“Slime” follows previous Shygirl single “Freak.” Both tracks will appear on Alias, which explores four different characters that are various exaggerated facets of Shygirl’s own personality. They will all appear together in the upcoming music video for “Slime,” press materials tease.


Alias, out November 20, is the follow-up to Shygirl’s 2018 EP Cruel Practice. Check out the lyric video for “Slime” here:
