SG Lewis drops new song “Time” featuring Rhye

The producer has also set a release date for his debut album.

After a run of exciting singles, SG Lewis has locked in his debut album Times for release early next year. To celebrate, the British musician has shared a new song: “Time” featuring Rhye.

As with the bulk of Lewis’ songwriting to date, “Time” features an infectious funk bassline and a catchy chorus. Across the track, Rhye’s smooth vocals blend beautifully with the dramatic string section on what proves to be an exciting new glimpse into Lewis’ debut release.

“‘Time’ is a song that is central to the album thematically and sonically,” the producer explained in a statement. “Rhye has one of the most unique and distinctive voices out there, and I’ve been a fan for so long. We wrote the song at Rhye’s studio after watching the sun set in Topanga Canyon, a memory which makes this song even more special to me. The beat initially started from a piano loop and a Dennis Edwards sample Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs had started working on with Julian, which I then turned into the instrumental late one night in Nashville.”

Besides “Time,” Lewis’ new album will also include “Impact” featuring Robyn and Channel Tres, “Feed the Fire” starring Lucky Daye and the solo track “Chemicals.”

Times will be released on February 19, 2021. Listen to “Time” here:
