See Marshmello’s rebellious teenage years in “Rooftops” MV

He was a sk8er boi.

Marshmello has dropped a heartwarming video for “Rooftops,” a cut from his sophomore album, Joytime II.

The clip follows a rebellious teenage Marshmello—who is totally into mohawks, playing the drums and denim jackets—who constantly frustrates his well-meaning mom. The DJ ends up injuring himself while skateboarding, but his mom comes to the rescue, as they usually do. The visual ends on a high note, with mother and son finally seeing eye to eye.

“This video is a reminder to always appreciate your family for who they are,” Marshmello elaborated in a tweet. The clip for “Rooftops” is the latest in a series of uplifting visuals from the DJ, following “Here With Me” and “Tell Me.”
