Sebastian, Gallant drop dramatic new single, “Run for Me”

The producer’s sophomore album arrives in the fall.

French producer Sebastian has enlisted singer-songwriter Gallant for his new single, “Run for Me.”

The song starts off slow, with the singer’s breathy vocals layered over dramatic organs and subtle beats. But soon the chorus kicks in and the producer enters with heavy, rock-tinged synths. “We’re all just dreamin’ / Just barely drifting towards the shore / Nobody is listening / But I wonder, who sent these tears we’re floating on,” Gallant sings.

“We made it in one day, in one take without stopping. The melody evolved wherever it seemed to want to go all by itself,” Sebastian said of the song in a statement. “I tracked Gallant down for the vocals because he shared the same power and logic that the song aimed to have and I wasn’t disappointed.”

“Run for Me” dropped alongside a narrative-driven MV. The Todd Tourso-directed video opens with a young couple on the run from the police. The visual then cuts between the past and present, showing scenes of the duo’s life before crime and an adrenaline-pumping car chase.

The track will appear on Sebastian’s long-awaited sophomore album, due out in the fall via Ed Banger Records. The producer made his debut in 2011 with Total.
