Said the Sky, Matthew Koma are “Over Getting Over You”

Who says break up anthems can’t be a bop?

American DJ Said the Sky is gearing up to release his first full-length EP, Wide-Eyed, on July 20. He’s already dropped a handful of tracks, including “Pray For Me,” “All I Got” and “Faded”—and he’s just released another one. This time, he’s teamed up with singer-songwriter Matthew Koma for “Over Getting Over You.”

The track sits somewhere between a heartbroken ballad and a fresh dance track by taking the best bits of both sides. “It hit me like a ten-ton truck / Yeah I’m thunderstruck, can’t brush under the rug / How you don’t even care about us, checking out on us,” Koma sings on the bridge, reflecting on a relationship gone wrong.

The chorus is a little more uplifting, but will still hit you right in the feels. “I’m over getting over you / I’m sick of getting over you / And you’ll see, I don’t bleed you / I’m over getting over you,” Koma declares before the drop kicks in. Built around a “sweet dreams” vocal loop from the chorus, it’ll be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
