Rochelle Jordan has announced her signing to TOKiMONSTA’s Young Art Records with a brand-new song “Got Em.”
The UK-based musician delivers a commanding label debut with “Got Em,” a club-ready banger featuring sultry instrumentation underpinned by infectious rhythm. The song is her first release since dropping the minimal R&B single “Fill Me in” last year. She also spent 2020 collaborating with Machinedrum, Jimmy Edgar and Jacques Greene.
“‘Got Em’ is my song of affirmation,” Jordan shared in a statement. “I wrote it in 2017, a time where I had an intense epiphany about life. I started to become much more spiritually aware than I have ever been before. All the repetition in this song is my way of being able to meditate on these words of encouragement and confidence, affirm and push through. Talking my shit in the first verse, to speaking and encouraging whoever is listening in the second, I just wanted this song to seep into the veins of whoever needs to be lifted.”
Jordan’s last project was 2014’s 1021. She later went on to collaborate with Childish Gambino on his massive LP Because the Internet, and did voice acting for Adult Swim’s animated series Black Dynamite.
