Petit Biscuit drops new EP, ‘I Leave Again’

Including a remix of the title track by Japanese Wallpaper.

French producer Petit Biscuit has shared a new EP I Leave Again, which features four alternative versions of the title track.

It includes the original with Shallou, an acoustic version, an instrumental and a remix by Australian producer Japanese Wallpaper. The four-track release explores the emotional depth of Petit Biscuit’s latest composition: The original is dreamy and melancholic while Japanese Wallpaper reworks the track into an upbeat indie dancefloor anthem.

“Japanese Wallpaper brought to his remix of ‘I Leave Again’ a solar and personal touch, without distorting the original,” Petit Biscuit said in a statement. “For me, it’s an essential version and complements the track perfectly. I’ve been a fan of Japanese Wallpaper for a while and I am delighted that he was able to add his style to the song.”

The producer also explained that “I Leave Again” is about having a positive perspective on the end of a relationship. “[Shallou and I] tried to turn it into ‘the song to a new start,’ with all of the excitement that it can bring,” Petit Biscuit added.

Prior to I Leave Again, Petit Biscuit contributed a cover of Angus & Julia Stone’s “Chateau” for the Australian bushfire relief album Songs for Australia. Last year, the producer released a song with JP Cooper, “We Were Young,” which served as the title track of his second album. In 2019, he also remixed the Flume and Vera Blue song “Rushing Back.”
