PC Music founder AG Cook has shared a new single titled “Lifeline,” featuring vocals from Caroline Polachek. The track arrived alongside an animated music video.

The visual by Timothy Luke boasts prime PC Music aestehtic: bona fide 2000s-esque Blogger graphics. The track on the other hand, features the British producer back on vocals over some pretty inspirational, eclectic production. Cook unleashes glistening synthesizers and a toppling drum as his and Polachek’s voices warp and bend: “If every door is left open / Would you show me the way? You are my lifeline / You, you are my lifeline.”

“The melody at the core of ‘Lifeline’ is this repetitive, insistent and slightly selfish earworm that I’ve been living with for too long now… I found myself with this young, unstable song, and somehow nurtured it to become a power ballad,” Cook said in a statement.

AG Cook produced Polachek’s song “Ocean of Tears” earlier this year. He also produced Charli XCX’s upcoming album Charli, which includes tracks such as “Cross You Out” featuring Sky Ferreira and “Gone” with Christine and the Queens.
