Brooklyn-based producer Octo Octa—aka Maya Bouldry-Morrison—has unveiled a new single titled “Spin Girl, Let’s Activate!” She’s also announced her third LP, Resonant Body.
The acid house track combines snappy four-on-the-floor beats and rapid synths to create a euphoric, rave-worthy banger. Infused with the nostalgia of old-school techno, it’s an exciting teaser of the DJ’s upcoming full-length.
Resonant Body is described in a press release as Bouldry-Morrison’s “most spiritual and nature-connected work.” She conceived the project “in order to process through art an intense and magical year of change,” producing and recording the tracks last December in a New Hampshire cabin.
The album is due out September 6 via T4T LUV NRG. Half of the profits will be donated to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, an organization that “works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine their gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence,” according to its website.
