A brand-new dance pop collaboration comes courtesy of Marshmello and Halsey, who have teamed up for the uplifting song “Be Kind.”
The single—which marks the two musicians’ collaborative debut—explores the vulnerability that slowly builds within relationships as people open up to their partners. “When you know you can cry to the one / Always confide in the one / You can be kind to the one that you love,” Halsey sings on the chorus. “Be Kind” proves a strong follow-up to Marshmello’s 2018 platinum-selling single “Happier,” featuring Bastille.
“As soon as we finished the song, I was instantly obsessed!” Marshmello explained in a press release. “Halsey and I connected and were both on the same page with what we wanted the final outcome to be! And it turned out great.”
Last year, the masked electronic producer released the third installment of his Joytime series and also teamed up with SOB x RBE for their collaborative project, Roll the Dice. More recently, Mello shared a song, “Been Thru This Before” featuring Southside, Giggs and SAINt JHN.
Halsey, on the other hand, kicked off 2020 by releasing her third studio full-length, Manic. The album included the pop star’s gargantuan hit “Without Me”—which became the most-played song on US radio in 2019—alongside other singles like “Clementine” and “Graveyard.”
