Marshmello, Bastille team up on BBC Radio 1 performance

They performed “Happier” and covered Benny Blanco’s “Eastside.”

Marshmello and Bastille made an appearance together on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, delivering stripped-down performances of their smash hit “Happier” and a cover of Benny Blanco’s “Eastside.”

Their rendition of “Happier”—a song about letting go of someone—was made all the more emotionally charged thanks to the addition of a string quartet.

The musicians also served up a cover of Benny Blanco’s single, “Eastside.” Bastille frontman Dan Smith injected signature soulful runs throughout the cover, playfully adding lines from Nelly’s 2000 hit “Ride Wit Me” to the chorus.
