Major Lazer go horse racing in “Diplomàtico” music video

Featuring Guaynaa.

Major Lazer have unveiled the music video for their new single, “Diplomàtico,” featuring Puerto Rican rapper Guaynaa.

“Diplomàtico” is the first song to follow Major Lazer’s 2020 LP Music is the Weapon and will be included in the album’s upcoming deluxe edition. Another three unreleased tracks will complete Music is the Weapon (Reloaded) when it is released later this month.

In the clip for “Diplomàtico,” Major Lazer and Guaynaa hit the Gulfstream Park horse racing track, taking on the roles of stable workers, gamblers and jockeys. When horse owner Walshy Fire loses his jockey (played by Diplo), he recruits his stable hand (Guaynaa) to run a race. It makes for a slate of hilarious moments designed to showcase the fun personalities of Guaynaa and the Major Lazer producers.

Released in October last year, Music is the Weapon is rumored to be Major Lazer’s final album, though the group have yet to confirm. The record spans five languages and a jaw-dropping list of collaborators from a range of genres. It includes appearances from Paloma Mami, Nicki Minaj, Alessia Cara, Mumford & Sons’ Marcus Mumford, Skip Marley and Khalid.

Music is the Weapon (Reloaded) will arrive on March 26. Watch the video for “Diplomàtico” here:
