Kygo has dropped a remix of Whitney Houston’s 1990 cover of “Higher Love,” originally by Steve Winwood.

Houston’s rendition of “Higher Love” was only ever given a limited release as a bonus cut on the Japanese edition of her third album, I’m Your Baby Tonight. This Kygo remix will no doubt bring the song to the attention of a wider audience. Though the Norwegian producer puts his signature EDM-inflected spin on the track, the late pop icon’s mesmerizing vocals rightfully remain as the real star.

“The resurgence of this precious archival performance will carry Whitney’s musical legacy on to a younger generation for years to come,” explained Pat Houston, the sole executor of the late singer’s estate, in a press statement. “Everyone should be ready to dance to this uplifting and inspiring record—a testament to Kygo’s incredible talent, and a reminder of why we fell in love with Whitney from the very beginning.”

“Higher Love” is the first in a series of planned posthumous releases from Houston’s estate, including a hologram tour and an album featuring never-before-heard material.
