Kygo, OneRepublic travel the world in “Lose Somebody” video

Virtually, of course.

Kygo and OneRepublic’s lead vocalist Ryan Tedder have reunited to travel the world in the video for their recent collaboration, “Lose Somebody.”

Although the two artists couldn’t get together for a physical shoot, they’ve creatively put together a music video with the aid of green screen technology. Kygo and Tedder take a virtual, multidimensional trip to the mountains, beach, arcade, a sunflower field and more, all in their retro convertible. Midway, they ditch their four-wheeler to hop on an ostrich for a ride to outer space. It’s undeniably funny and quirky, and highly reminiscent of Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” visual.

“Since Ryan and I obviously couldn’t shoot it together we decided to do it all on green screen. This one is weird haha,” the Norwegian DJ wrote on Instagram, adding that he “had so much fun shooting it.” OneRepublic shared the same sentiments on their Instagram post saying, “this video is absurd, and we love it.”

“Lose Somebody” is featured on Kygo’s latest album, Golden Hour. The 18-track record includes his hit remix of Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” and collaborations with Zak Abel (“Freedom”), Valerie Broussard (“The Truth”), Zara Larsson and Tyga (“Like it is”), and more.
